CHILD/ADOLESCENT

Therapy with children and adolescents requires a specialized subset of clinical skills. Treatment strategies and techniques are modified and curtailed to meet youth where they are developmentally and cognitively. B.H.C. clinicians are skilled and experienced in working with young people from diverse backgrounds and families. FAMILY THERAPY

Finding a solution that meet the needs of each individual family member can often seem impossible.  Family therapy offers an environment in which families are able work through these issues and problems in a structured and productive environment.  Family therapy deals with family pain in a way that is manageable and can lead to healing. Parents and caregivers are an important part of the treatment process when working with children and adolescents. Our therapists work diligently to foster healthy communication and sound family functioning.

Couples therapy assists individuals in developing and maintaining the tools needed to maintain healthy and fulfilling relationships.


GROUP THERAPY

Group Therapy has proven to be extremely successful in creating an environment that validates the thoughts and feeling of the participants. Group therapy provides support, accountability, and connection through community. B.H.C. believes that group therapy is a necessary component of comprehensive treatment options that offers reassurance and support to those encountering similar challenges.

ADHD GROUP

A.C.E. Adaptive and Creative Engagement

A.C.E. Group emphasizes the importance of unorthodox treatment interventions to address the ever changing presentation of ADHD to improve overall behavior. B.H.C. clinician utilized sensory based intervention to reduce impulsivity and foster better self-soothing techniques. A.C.E. group engages the young person and family member(s) in dynamic activities designed to create insight around what brings about the best results for the young person. B.H.C. recognizes the need for nontraditional strategies to improve behavior in school, community and home settings.

SURVIVORS GROUP

C.A.S. Childhood Abuse Survivors

C.A.S. Group engages individuals who have experienced childhood sexual abuse in meaningful discussion around the impact of childhood abuse and how to obtain healing that empowers and supports the individual wherever he or she is in the healing process. B.H.C. maintains that the narrative of trauma survivors is often times intricate and complex which validates the necessity of C.A.S. Group.

LIFE & SOCIAL SKILLS GROUP

C.U.E.S.2   Creating Understanding of Environment and Social Situations    

C.U.E.S.2 Group addresses social norms and cues that are often the precursor for establishing age appropriate and satisfactory peer relationships. B.H.C. utilizes role playing, social exposure and confidence building strategies to overcome barriers to healthy social interaction and or life skill development.
